i'm obsessed with things that smell good

anyway that was an interesting little tidbit I found while reading another interesting article/blog entitled "The power of smell in picking sex partners." I recently mentioned to a friend that I am obsessed with things that smell good. Anyone that has ever chilled at my place can tell you.. I have so many candles, sprays, scented oils, lotions, even divinely scented antibacterials lol

how very interesting that this little quirk of mine is so closely related to how i pick guys. see, you always think its a psychological thing. do we connect? does he/she meet up to my criteria? what are your credentials?! (lol) .. people love to make themselves seem so deep & complicated. but it is just biology really. hormones are sent in the air; we freaking SMELL things that trigger our memory banks.

i once had a boyfriend that smelled delicious at all times. but it wasn't just about the cologne he'd use. sometimes he smelled good fresh out of the shower with no cologne. or just waking up in the morning. his skin just smelled good to me, i can't describe why lol.. i loved to be close enough to sniff his neck whenever i wanted. i loved when he left t-shirts in my house and i would sleep in them because it smelled like him. i liked when he lent me boxers when i slept over at his place.. definitely stole a few pairs lmao ok maybe that has nothing to do with smell. guilty. i just liked his boxers.

anyway. i just found that article interesting. i'm a nerd. but it's true, i would never date anyone that wore the same cologne as any of my male family members, or who just didn't smell good to me in general.

Then again, i like weird smells: the smell of a nail salon, gasoline and new plastic lol .. i wonder what the hell that has to say about the guys i choose.
