Open Letter

hey you,

i just want you to know, don't sweat it. i know 'this' is new. for me too. but you need to be more like me and just go with 'it'. don't tell me about any of 'that'. I don't want to know about any of 'that' because 'that' is in the past and 'this' is in the present. and 'this' is what i'm interested in. lets just focus on 'this'. and the 'you' that you are now and the 'me' that i am as i write this. i have some of 'that' too but, you don't need to know about any of 'that' either because it's also in my 'past'. we all have one.

i just need you to promise me one thing. the only time you need to tell me about 'that' is if any of 'that' is coming back to ruin our chances at 'this'. and i promise you I will do the very same.

i'm not as complicated as you may think. i am very simple. ask me anything and i'll answer truthfully. i have not a thing to hide. i just need you to stop trying to read so deeply into everything and just read me as i am. i'm as wide open as a huge book. but instead of looking back at the pages filled with unfamiliar words and situations that have already occurred, lets continue to fill up these blank pages and create a few chapters with you as my love interest. unfortunately, i can't promise you the book is going to end well because i've never read it myself. any great saga has many peaks and dips.

i just look forward to the day that my book can become our great novel.
