THESE KIDS GO HARD!! .. Have you ever sat and read through any thread of comments on ANY Justin Bieber video? Who else is hot right now? That little chick Jasmine Villegas? Demi Lovato? Any of this generation's bubbly pop stars?
The kids these days are what I like to call "SuperFans". SuperFans are CRAZY! lol - It's bad enough that the internet already makes young people think they are way more important than they really are (haha coming from the woman blogging to no one womp womp) but now these SuperFans have to prove how "gangsta" they are by threatening other YouTubers, proclaiming their undying love for their favorite artists, etc, etc. But it doesn't stop at just their videos. Our entire lives are thrown onto the internet nowadays. So they're constantly searching for gossip, pictures, videos, scandals, and hacking into celeb accounts to get God knows what information out of them.
I think the internet has just made us all EXTREME and not necessarily in a good way. Of course it has it's perks and who the fuck am I kidding it is pretty cool but why can these kids spend all day online chatting, facebooking, tweeting, etc and still score so low on their Language Arts assignments? I MEAN don't you need to know how to read in order to use the internet? .. Doesn't really make sense to me.
How come these kids can muster up enough literacy to write 3 paragraphs about how much they love Justin Bieber and they want him to play at their city and they wanna have his babies cuz his hair is uber cool AAHHHHHHH!! .... but can't type up an essay for homework? No. But they can rush to his defense as if they know him personally and threaten to beat up and say nasty things to people halfway across the country for saying they don't like a JB song. How can they even say these things on the internet? These are the same "shy" kids with a fear of public speaking living at home with mommy and daddy getting everything they want? Yes, but on the internet they're so independent and powerful, remember?
I remember when I was 11 and I got my first computer with AOL 3.0 (lmao!) and I would have to beg my mom to be online for 45 minutes tops, after I finished my homework of course, to go and chat in the Spice Girls chat room and talk about my favorite songs and their movie. That was cute... but that's as far as I would go. I would sign off and go play Barbies or something! I would draw in my sketchbooks, keep myself entertained with music and crafts or export myself into the land of whatever book I was reading. At this day in age everyone has a cellphone, including they 11 year olds that live down the block from me, and everyone has internet access 24/7. There is no room for imagination anymore! It's like the internet is being pumped into our bodies intravenously and once we remove the needle people don't know how to live.
(Remember when we couldn't pick up the phone because it'll kick us offline - "GOODBYE!" FUCK! RUDE ASS YELLOW AOL GUY! AHHH!!! lol)
I just feel bad for these kids. I feel like they need more HUMAN INTERACTION as opposed to being on the damn computer all of the time. And this is coming from someone that is making a career out of the internet! But even I know when enough is enough and when to disconnect myself from "The Matrix".
Now all these kids are thinking is: Who needs to hang out with friends anymore when my new iPhone 4 has Facetime? lol
